~You are Always Welcomed Here~

In Memory of Our Sandra

So many times we do not see, that all of life is a memory:

Of days gone past both bad and good, and so we dream, as dream we should:

But one should always keep in mind, that a memory is a day behind:

Live for today with its joy and sorrow,

for today is the memory we dream of tomorrow

unknown

This past week the ladies got together and planted a memory garden in Sandra's name. Sandra loved roses and always thought a pretty little garden would look nice right off of the porch at Ms. Wendy's.

With everyone's busy schedules, the garden just never came to fruition so in memory of Sandra, there are now beautiful roses blooming, a butterfly bush spreading it's wings to heaven and of course an angel to watch over this beautiful spot..

We would like to thank each of you who donated flowers, statues, and your time to help create this special tribute to "Our Sandra".

Treasures await you inside and out!

When you first walk into Ms Wendy's, you will marvel at the remarkable variety of goods we have to offer, including ironstone, farm tables, primitive cabinets, silver, clocks, pewter, linens, paintings and the list goes on and on.

But if you look again, you will see the age, the love, the character and the history of each and every piece you touch and will find yourself reminiscing about your childhood, or the memories of someone long since gone.

This week at Ms. Wendy's we want to show you pieces of long ago with new uses such as this great old horse gate with original hinges that we are sure with a little imagaintation you will find would make a wonderful entrance to your secret garden.

Using unusual pieces or architectural items in your flower beds not only looks great but adds age and can look amazing when trying to achieve a "Cottage Garden"

Concrete statuary will add quite a bit of interest, not only does it blend well, but will age and give the sense of being there for decades.

Wishes for a happy Easter to you and your families

Wendy, Jenny, Kay, Carolyn, Natalie and Cindy would like to
wish each of you a very happy Easter.

Located in Fayette County, just a few miles from Ms. Wendy's, Starr's Mill is well known and has been captured by many artists in their paintings throughout the years. At one time all of these mills were important community centers. Farmers traveled for miles to the nearest mill to grind grain, saw timber, hull rice, or gin cotton. They fished the pond, swapped news and stories, or picked up some supplies as they waited their turn to grind their corn. Many times a town grew up around the mill itself.

Ms. Wendy's offers original paintings by one such artist. These paintings are nicely framed in a great rustic frame. See how beautifully this artist has captured the realistic appeal of Starr's Mill.
