In Loving Memory

This Friday, February 8th, one year ago we lost our dear friend and co-worker Sandra Morris.

We will always miss her genuine care of each of us, our families and our customers. We will miss her knowledge, her attitude, her generosity and most of all her spirit.

Sandra lost a battle in which she was most certainly a courageous fighter.

We will remember her everyday in our hearts!

Since losing Sandra we gained a wonderful man that Sandra called "My Bill". Mr Bill as we call him has become a wonderful part of the Ms. Wendy's family. There is nothing he wouldn't do for you, he can and does fix just about anything we need and some days you can find him behind the counter chatting with customers. We love you Mr. Bill and are glad you're part of our family!

There are some changes that await you at Ms. Wendy's this month. Besides the great new pieces everyone has been adding, there has been a little re-decorating going on.

Carolyn has given her room a fresh coat of paint which shouts "We are ready for spring", and has added an architecural element for a refreshing new look.

I was taking photos before she was completely finished so you will have to come in for the full effect.

Besides the decorative pieces Carolyn brought in, she has an incredible needlepoint room size rug and hand painted four fold room divider with the perfect summer scene.

See the photos below for just a glimpse!

I found these incredible old shades on a recent trip to Chattanooga, they have the most amazing bakelite finials.
On the same trip I found these great old metal framed windows, the frosted style glass is original.

Cute little metal dress form perfect for hanging earrings from.

Just another day at school!

A short trip ~ worth the drive

I was working at Ms. Wendy's today and came across an old newspaper article that was written about the opening of Ms. Wendy's in the spring of 2003.

The title reads "Ms Wendy's good reason to make a trip to Brooks.

This still holds true today, almost 5 years later. Ms. Wendy's has not lost it's charm offering a pleasant mix of antiques, antique and primitive furniture, folk art, lamps, candles and a large selection of home acessories with a vintage touch.

If you haven't made the trip yet or if you haven't been in a while, we would love to see you again.

Many Blessings for a New Year ~ 2008

We all hope that everyone had a wonderful festive Christmas while having a quiet time with family and friends.

Now we are all looking toward a New Year and what it will hold for us and the ones we love.

Ms. Wendy's is grateful for everyones patronage over the past year and wants to wish each of you a safe and prosperous New Year in 2008!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

~ HAPPY NEW YEAR ~
