Hiawassee Georgia is waiting for you!

This is a very exciting blog for me to do, Wendy and her Hubby are proud new owners of a cozy cabin in Hiawassee Georgia.

They did a terrific job on remodeling and decorating the interior,
just click on the photos & you will be able to see that much of her decor came from Ms. Wendy's and The Plum Tree.
Wendy says "thanks to all of her antique family and friends for these great finds and ideas. And a special thanks to those who gave up some favorites for her ( you know who you are). Our cabin turned out so cozy and charming, an extension of what we love to do at Ms. Wendy's and The Plum Tree."

To show her appreciation, Wendy is offering a 10% discounted rate for all of Ms. Wendy's and Plum Tree bloggers.
You can email her at wchilds@numail.org and let her know you saw this on the blog or go to http://www.greatrentals.com/ and enter property #190391 for more information and calender.

Starting with this charming exterior you can just imagine what waits inside.

Perfect spot for breakfast coffee or evening dinners overlooking the lake.
Boat dock available with 4-slips, and ramp close by. Fish, swim or just relax.

Comfortable and equipped, the great room has full view of the lake and comes complete with cable and DVD. Sofa pulls out to queen bed and over-sized chair converts to a twin bed.
The cozy interior is filled with great vintage finds.

Fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer

Sun filled bedroom with queen size bed ~ check out the luggage rack above the bed. Those pieces look familiar
Huge steamer trunk sits at end of bed for extra blankets
A mix of old and new As you can see the bath is quite large and has everything for a busy weekend.

A mix of old wood and metal ceiling tiles coordinate nicely with other vintage materials and furniture. The great old barn door makes the perfect partition for privacy.

And now for the beauty that surrounds you, who could ask for more then this?

Hurry and make your plans now, regular night stays runs $125.00 or $750.00 for the week and be sure to let Wendy know you saw it on the blog to receive your 10% discount. I know I will be enjoying it real soon.

We love old things, if we didn't we wouldn't be in this type of business. We wouldn't have a passion for found treasures that were part of history, perhaps our own or that of someone we never knew.
Some people come in looking for a particular piece of furniture, a missing saucer from Mothers dinnerware set or a special piece that will given to a newly married couple.
Others come in for something to do after they've eaten their lunch. Not quite ready to go back to work or home, and still others are the customers that enter our store and are instantly taken back in time with reminders of their past all around them. Perhaps something that belonged to their Grandmother, Favorite Aunt or a memorable neighbor.
Customers buy these wonderful old items to remind them of good times past and the sweet people that owned them. What a great business to be in . . . the business of memories.

We hope you enjoy the memories of these pieces and many more that Ms. Wendy's has to offer.

Happy Mother's Day from Ms. Wendy's

What makes good mothers? It is a question whose answer cannot be spoken within a few words. Mothers are made of a bundle of emotions that may defy reason. So this goes out to all the mothers who have kept awake all night with sick children in their arms, constantly uttering those compassionate words, "It's OK honey, Mommy's here. For those mothers who cannot keep the tears from trickling down their cheeks when they hold their baby for the first time. For the mothers who defy all odds just to watch her kid excell and repeat "That's my child!!"For all the mothers who read "Green Eggs and Ham" twice a night for a year, and then read it again. "Just one more time."For the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces even before they started going to school. For the mothers who turn their heads when they hear the word "Mom",even though they know that their kids are nowhere around. For all those mothers whose heart aches to watch her son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school for the first time and clinging to that child when they arrive home safely. So, this is meant for all mothers, working mothers and housewives, married mothers and the single mothers, those with money and without and for those without whom life would have never been or be the same.
Happy Mother's Day!
We hope to see you soon!

It looks like Ms. Wendy's has caught the same spring bug that bit us at The Plum Tree. She has added an incredible line of statues that have the look like they have been in the garden forever.
Take a look at this great old metal glider. Ms. Wendy's always has a great selection of these, but hurry they don't last long!
This is a neat little planting idea, just take an old chair long missing the seat, fasten some chicken wire to the bottom, add a liner of moss and dirt and you have a quaint little planter to sit in your garden.
Old iron pieces make great trellises for your climbing vines
Another pretty maiden for the garden aged to perfection
What would a garden be without a statue of lovers surrounded by roses?
Old handmade horse with horse hair mane
A whole section to keep the men busy while we shop!
Great selection of antique iron beds...ready to paint or leave as found.Cute little vintage kitchen cabinet
Great old oil painting
Pretty little white one drawer table...perfect for a foyer
This is a beautiful old dresser and it looks like it has a fresh coat of white paint.
Metal floral chandiliers
Perfect collectible shelves
I know this photo is a little blurry, however I still had to show you this great vintage carved wooden bowl.
Don't forget Mother's Day...May 11th
