Antiques are our passion

We all travel quite a bit to find the treasures we display & sell in our stores.
Finding quality items within our budget is important, not only to us but to our customers as well.
Researching home and garden decorating magazines for the latest look is equally important, plus it gives us the motivation to find the latest style and to put it together in a pleasing display.
For me, seeing the look on someones face when they have found the perfect accessory, furniture or gift is priceless and it keeps me focused and determined to keep up the hunt.

We always appreciate your business and are in the business to make you happy so if there is ever anything that you are particularly interested in or looking for something to add to your own personal collection, let us do the leg work.

It's hard to believe, but it is almost that time again when we get out our old worn quilts to air out getting ready for the colder weather to come. I collected all of the old quilts throughout the store today and layered them in this great old cabinet. Some quilts are worn beyond repair, some would look beautiful just draped over the end of a bed or cozy chair. However you use them, they will remind you of a simpler time when the only fast pace was getting your chores done before sunset.

One thing I really like about doing the blog for Ms. Wendy's is that Wendy herself can see all the weird things I did before she actually comes into the store and is shocked for the first time.
What I am talking about is I hung two old french doors in between the front and center room which not only give it an old home appeal, but also makes a distinction between the two rooms. These are not quite high enough to meet the door jam at top and bottom, however if you have a space in your home where you would like to define the space a little more, they may work for you. They are also hanging from their original hinges so they can be opened or closed.

Incredible old typewriter with original paperwork

I thought I would offer a creative idea each week that I found in a magazine or on a blog. This one happened to catch my eye since if you are like me, you always find old frames where maybe the picture is gone, or damaged however the frame is still pretty and intact.

This person looks like they took old family photos with prints of interest and grouped them together in a collage on the wall.

Hanging them at different heights and overlapping them create an interesting vignette that really catches your eye!

Carolyn has put together some great vintage pieces,
starting with this beautiful white decorated tin with wreath and bow design,
here she shows it on the wall, however think of the other possibilities
such as a wonderful top for an old piece of furniture or a headboard for a twin bed.

This piece almost went home with me, it is a very stylish Victorian coat/hat rack in the whitest of white and softest of blues...

Need a tall corner cabinet? This one could work just about anywhere in your home.

Wonderful white accent table...with great lines

Late Summer Beauty

Every new season that comes gives us all a breath of fresh air. A time to renew, refresh and just enjoy a little change. With this summer being the hottest on record, we are all ready for the cool crispness that fall brings.

Just like the seasons, stores change their products, gardeners re-plant, and we all get excited about the upcoming holidays and new time with our friends and family.
We invite you to visit Ms. Wendy's often to renew, refresh, or just make plans for your new season.
Hope to see you soon!

I found this great idea recently on a blog and thought it was perfect to share. We all have those drawers that we wish were more organized or pretty, especially in the bathroom or dresser where we keep essential for every day use. Well all it takes is a few yards of vintage lace some decorative push pins and small baskets to keep everything at your fingertips.
Try it out!
